Remi — Terms of Use
Version 1.0 · Last updated 15 July 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and EZ Lab Private Limited, a private limited company incorporated in India, CIN/LLPIN U74999HR2019PTC082899, registered at 5122, 12th Floor, Tower No. 05, ATS Kocoon, Sector 109, Gurgaon, Haryana 122006, India ("Remi", "we", "us", "our").
They govern your use of the Remi web application at myremi.co, the Remi conversation, the Professional Passport, and any related services (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. It explains what we do with your data and it matters — please read it.
These Terms are published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and constitute the electronic record and terms of access for the Service. No physical or digital signature is required.

3. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if:
- You are at least 18 years old. Remi is for working adults. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 treats anyone under 18 as a child, and we do not offer the Service to children.
- You are in India. Remi is offered in India only. We don't target or market it elsewhere, and it is built to India's legal framework. If you're outside India, please don't use it.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- You are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
- You have not previously been suspended or removed from the Service.
If you are using Remi through an Organisation Session, you must additionally be an employee, contractor, or authorised participant of that Organisation.
By using the Service, you represent that you meet all of the above.
4. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when registering, and keep it current.
- You may sign in using LinkedIn (SSO). If you do, you authorise us to receive the profile fields covered by the permissions you approve. Your use of LinkedIn is governed by LinkedIn's own terms and privacy policy, not ours. We are not responsible for LinkedIn.
- You are responsible for your account and your credentials. Don't share them. Tell us immediately at legal@myremi.co if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per person. Don't create an account for anyone else or under a false identity.
- If you signed up with a work email address, add a personal email before you leave that employer. Your account is yours (section 7), but you need a way to keep reaching it.
5. What the Service is — and what it is emphatically not
5.1 What it is
Remi is a private, AI-led reflection conversation about your professional life. It listens to what you say about how you work, and it reflects patterns back to you: your communication tendencies, your decision-making style, what energises you, what drains you, blind spots worth considering. It produces a Professional Passport. Over time, with more conversations, its reflections deepen.
That's it. It's a mirror. The value is in what you do with what you see.
5.2 What it is NOT — please read this properly
Remi is NOT:
| Not | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not medical or mental health care | Remi is your professional companion, not a counsellor. For personal or emotional support, please reach out to a mental health professional. Remi does not diagnose, treat, or provide therapy. It is not a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or clinician, and it is not a medical device. Nothing it says is medical or psychological advice. |
| Not an emergency service | Remi cannot help you in a crisis. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, stop reading and contact emergency services, or call iCall on 9152987821, or Vandrevala Foundation on 1860-2662-345 (24/7). |
| Not a psychometric assessment | Remi is not a validated psychometric instrument. It is not Myers-Briggs, not DISC, not Hogan, not a clinical or occupational assessment. It has not been validated against any of the standards those instruments are held to. It should not be used as if it were one. |
| Not a performance evaluation | Remi does not evaluate you, rate you, rank you, or judge you. It has no view on whether you are good at your job. |
| Not an employment decision tool | Remi Output must never be used to make decisions about anyone's employment. See section 8. |
| Not career, financial, legal, or tax advice | Remi reflects; it does not advise. Decisions about your career are yours, and you should take proper professional advice where the stakes warrant it. |
| Not a guarantee of anything | Not a promotion, not a raise, not a job, not clarity, not self-knowledge. |
| Not a human | Remi is software. It is not a person, a friend, or a relationship, however it may feel in the moment. Please don't rely on it as one. |
5.3 The accuracy limitation
Remi Output is generated by an AI model and can be wrong. It can be inaccurate, incomplete, generic, or simply mistaken about you. It works from a short conversation, from what you chose to say in it, and from nothing else — it has no access to your actual work, your colleagues, or your context.
Do not rely on Remi Output as a statement of fact about yourself or as the basis for a significant decision. Use your own judgment. Talk to real people who know you.
6. Your participation is voluntary
If your Organisation has arranged an Organisation Session:
- Taking part is your choice. You can decline. You can start and stop. You can complete a session and delete everything afterwards.
- We do not report your individual participation choices to your Organisation in a way that identifies you — see the Privacy Policy, section 7.4.
- Nothing you say to Remi affects your employment. See section 8.
- If you feel pressured to participate, or if your consent doesn't feel free, tell us at legal@myremi.co. We will take it seriously, including with your employer.
Your agreement is with us, not with your employer. Your Organisation cannot vary these Terms on your behalf, cannot waive your rights under them, and cannot agree to anything about your data that this agreement and our Privacy Policy don't permit.
7. Your Content, and what "it's yours" actually means
7.1 You keep your rights
You retain all rights in Your Content. We don't claim ownership of what you tell Remi.
We say publicly that your Passport "belongs to you". Here is what we mean by that in enforceable terms, because "ownership" of data is not a clean legal concept:
- We will not give it to your employer. Ever. (Privacy Policy, section 7.)
- We will not use it against you. It goes nowhere near an employment decision. (Section 8.)
- We will not sell it or use it to train AI models. (Privacy Policy, sections 6 and 11.)
- You can take it with you — export it at any time, in a portable format.
- You can delete it — completely, at any time, and we'll actually delete it.
- It survives your job. Leaving your employer doesn't end your account. Your employer can't close it or claim it.
- You can correct it, including reflections you think are wrong.
That set of commitments is what "yours" means. It is more useful than a property claim, and unlike a property claim, it is enforceable.
7.2 The licence you give us
To run the Service at all, we need permission to process what you give us. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, transmit, process, and display Your Content solely to:
- Operate the Service and generate Remi Output for you
- Maintain your account, provide support, and keep the Service secure
- Comply with law
- Do the safety things in section 5.2 and the Privacy Policy section 10
This licence is limited to running Remi for you. It does not permit us to publish Your Content, share it with your employer, sell it, use it in marketing, or train models on it. It ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except where we must retain something by law (Privacy Policy, section 14), and except for aggregate anonymised statistics that contain no personal data.
7.3 What you promise about Your Content
You agree that Your Content will not:
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
- Disclose your employer's confidential information, trade secrets, or material non-public information in breach of your obligations to them
- Disclose another person's sensitive personal information without a lawful basis
- Be unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or harassing
- Contain malware or anything designed to harm the Service
A specific request: please don't tell Remi things about your colleagues that they wouldn't want shared. Remi is a mirror for you. Talking about how you work with a difficult colleague is the point. Cataloguing a named colleague's failings is not, and it puts their personal data in our systems without their consent — which creates a problem for you as much as for us.
7.4 Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, we may use them freely, without obligation or compensation to you. This applies to product suggestions — not to Your Content.
8. The performance red line
This is a binding term, not a policy statement.
Remi Output — whether individual, team-level, or organisational — must never be used as an input to any employment decision about any identified or identifiable person. This includes performance reviews, ratings, appraisals, promotion, succession or "high potential" identification, compensation, bonuses, increments, performance improvement plans, disciplinary process, redundancy selection, termination, hiring, internal mobility screening, role allocation, or individual monitoring or surveillance of any kind.
Our obligations:
- We will not build features that enable it.
- We will not supply individual data to an Organisation, on any request, for any price, under any framing.
- We contractually prohibit it in every Organisation agreement, and we will terminate an Organisation that breaches it.
- We will refuse a demand for it even where the Organisation is a paying customer, and we will accept the commercial loss.
If you believe your employer has used Remi Output in an employment decision about you, tell us at legal@myremi.co. We will investigate and act.
What we cannot do: we cannot control what your employer does outside our systems, and we cannot undo a decision your employer makes. We can enforce our contract, terminate them, and support you. We say this plainly rather than promising protection we cannot deliver.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service — including the Remi conversation design, the underlying reflection framework, the Work Twin library, the prompts, the Passport format and structure, the software, the "Remi" name and marks, the visual identity, and all documentation — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999, and other applicable law.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal and professional reflection, in accordance with these Terms.
You may: use your Passport and Remi Output however you like for your own purposes — share it, post it, put it in a job application, show your therapist, ignore it.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the Service
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service
- Extract, reconstruct, or attempt to discover our prompts, framework, or model instructions — including by prompt injection, jailbreaking, or social engineering the conversation
- Use the Service or Remi Output to build, train, or evaluate a competing product or AI model
- Resell, sublicense, white-label, or commercially redistribute the Service or Remi Output
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notice
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in violation of the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any applicable law
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation
- Use the Service on behalf of someone else, or submit another person's information as your own
- Attempt to access another user's account, data, or Passport
- Attempt to re-identify individuals from any aggregate or Organisation Report
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach its security or authentication measures, other than through a responsible disclosure to legal@myremi.co
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or impose an unreasonable load on it
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm anyone
- Circumvent any usage limit, rate limit, or access restriction
- Use the Service to generate content that is unlawful or that violates a third party's rights
We may investigate suspected breaches and take any action we consider appropriate, including suspension or termination.
11. Organisation Sessions
Where your Organisation has purchased a session:
- The Organisation's agreement with us covers session delivery and the aggregate Organisation Report only. It does not give them any right to your personal data. (Privacy Policy, section 3.)
- The Organisation Report is aggregate and non-attributable, and is only produced where the cohort meets our minimum size floor. (Privacy Policy, section 7.2.)
- Team-level reporting to managers is likewise aggregate, subject to the same floor, and contains no names and no verbatim quotes.
- These Terms govern your use. Where anything in the Organisation's agreement conflicts with these Terms or the Privacy Policy in respect of your personal data, these Terms and the Privacy Policy prevail, and the Organisation cannot vary them.
- If your Organisation stops paying, or its agreement ends, your account continues. Your Remi account is not contingent on your employer's contract. Your account, your conversations, and your Passport remain yours.
12. Paid plans, billing, and refunds
12.1 Plans
| Plan | What it is |
|---|---|
| Free | The Remi conversation and Professional Passport. Provided at no charge to Organisation Session participants and to individual users. |
| remi+ | Our one paid subscription. It adds: your live Fit Score (role fit and trajectory, updated as you have more conversations, with alerts when it shifts meaningfully); unlimited access to decision-prep modes; a quarterly "what's shifted" check-in; and LinkedIn Activator, which helps you write LinkedIn posts grounded in how you actually talk. Coming soon — pricing will be shown before you subscribe, and there is no purchase flow yet. |
| LinkedIn enhancer | A separate optional add-on — not a subscription tier, and not an upgrade above remi+. It's a deeper LinkedIn service for people seriously building a personal brand. Not launched; pricing not yet set. |
There is no tier above remi+. remi+ is the paid subscription; LinkedIn enhancer is a separate thing you can add to it if you want it. We mention this because "premium tiers" usually imply a ladder, and this isn't one.
12.2 Billing
- Prices are shown before you pay and are exclusive of GST, currently 18%. Tax is added at checkout and shown to you before you confirm.
- Payment is processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your card or UPI credentials.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first. Recurring payments run as an e-mandate through our gateway under RBI's rules on recurring transactions — which means you get a pre-debit notification before each charge, and additional factor authentication above the prescribed threshold.
- You can cancel any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it doesn't retroactively refund the period you're in (see 12.3).
- If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features. Your free account and all your data remain intact — you don't lose your Passport because a card expired.
- We will give you 30 days' notice by email before any price increase, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
12.3 Refunds
- First subscription payment: cancel within 7 days for a full refund. No questions, no reason needed.
- After that, subscription fees are non-refundable for the current period, except where the law requires otherwise.
- If we materially degrade or discontinue a paid feature during a period you've paid for, we refund you pro rata — you shouldn't pay for something we took away.
- Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
12.4 Organisation purchases
Organisation Session fees, tiers, and terms are governed by the separate written agreement between us and the Organisation. This section 12 governs individual subscriptions only.
13. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties, including LinkedIn (for sign-in, and for LinkedIn Activator in remi+) and our payment gateway.
- Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.
- We're not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their acts and omissions.
- When Remi generates content for you to post on LinkedIn, you are the author and publisher of that content. You are responsible for it, for its accuracy, and for complying with LinkedIn's terms. Review it before you post it. We are not responsible for what you publish.
- If a third-party service changes or terminates its API, a dependent feature may change or stop. We'll tell you if that affects a feature you pay for, and section 12.3 applies.
14. Beta and early-stage nature of the Service
Remi is an early-stage product. You should expect:
- Features to change, be added, or be removed
- Bugs, downtime, and errors
- Remi Output quality to vary
Where a feature is labelled "beta", "preview", or "coming soon", it is provided "as is", may be discontinued, and is excluded from any service commitment. We may run experiments and A/B tests on the Service, but not in a way that reduces the privacy protections in section 7 or the Privacy Policy.
We will not silently discontinue the Service. If we shut down, we will give you [at least 60 days'] notice and a means to export your data before it is deleted.
15. Suspension and termination
15.1 By you
Delete your account at any time, from account settings or by emailing us. Deleting your account deletes your conversations, your Passport, and your derived insights within the timeframe in the Privacy Policy, section 14. It's irreversible — export first if you want a copy.
15.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your access:
- If you materially breach these Terms
- If your use creates legal risk or a security threat to us or other users
- If we're required to by law
- If we discontinue the Service (section 14)
Where we reasonably can, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it, and we'll give you a chance to export your data before deletion — unless the breach is serious enough (fraud, security attack, unlawful use) that we can't.
15.3 What survives
Sections 5.2 (what Remi isn't), 7.4 (feedback), 8 (red line), 9 (our IP), 16–19 (disclaimers, liability, indemnity), 20 (governing law), and any other provision that by its nature should survive, survive termination.
16. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 18.4:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and quiet enjoyment.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; that Remi Output will be accurate, complete, useful, or suited to you; that defects will be corrected; or that the Service will meet your expectations.
- We make no representation about the validity, reliability, or predictive value of Remi Output. It is a reflection, not a measurement.
- Any decision you make on the basis of Remi Output is yours.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 18.4:
17.1 Excluded losses
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages; nor for loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, or anticipated savings; nor for loss of or damage to data — however caused, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility.
17.2 Cap
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, in any 12-month period, will not exceed the greater of:
- (a) the total amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- (b) ₹25,000.
Most Remi users pay nothing, which makes (b) the operative figure for them. We've set it at a level meant to be a real floor rather than a token one.
17.3 Employment decisions
We are not liable for any employment decision made about you by your employer or anyone else, whether or not Remi Output was involved, and whether or not that use breached section 8. Our obligations under section 8 are to prohibit and enforce, not to guarantee your employer's conduct.
17.4 What we do NOT exclude
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Gross negligence or wilful misconduct
- Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Indian law — including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and our obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights.
18. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EZ Lab Private Limited, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any third-party claim, liability, damage, loss, and reasonable legal cost arising out of:
- Your breach of these Terms or applicable law
- Your Content, including any claim that it infringes a third party's rights or discloses information you were not entitled to disclose
- Your use of Remi Output, including anything you publish
- Your misuse of the Service
We'll notify you promptly of any claim, let you control the defence (with counsel we reasonably approve), and cooperate reasonably. You may not settle any claim in a way that imposes an obligation or admission on us without our written consent.
This indemnity does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach, negligence, or misconduct.
19. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020:
| Grievance Officer | J Sharma |
| Designation | Grievance Officer, EZ Lab Private Limited |
| legal@myremi.co | |
| Address | EZ Lab Private Limited, 5122, 12th Floor, Tower No. 05, ATS Kocoon, Sector 109, Gurgaon, Haryana 122006, India |
| Acknowledgement | Within 48 hours of receipt |
| Resolution | Within 30 days of receipt |
For data protection grievances specifically, see the Privacy Policy, section 17.
20. Governing law and disputes
20.1 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
20.2 Talk to us first
Before starting formal proceedings, please raise the issue with our Grievance Officer (section 19). Most things get resolved this way, faster and cheaper.
20.3 Courts — no forced arbitration
We do not require you to arbitrate. The courts at Gurgaon, Haryana, India have jurisdiction over disputes under these Terms.
And if you are a "consumer" under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, you keep every right that Act gives you — including approaching the appropriate Consumer Commission. Nothing here waives, limits, or routes around that.
We're saying this affirmatively rather than burying a carve-out inside an arbitration clause. Indian courts have consistently held consumer disputes to be non-arbitrable (Emaar MGF Land Ltd v. Aftab Singh), so a mandatory arbitration clause against a consumer would likely be struck down anyway — and a term drafted to be unenforceable against you is not a term worth having. Arbitration belongs in our agreement with Organisations, where both sides are businesses; it doesn't belong here.
21. General
| Entire agreement | These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us on this subject, and supersede any prior understanding — including anything said in a sales conversation, a session briefing, or a facilitator's presentation. |
| Severability | If any provision is unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continues. |
| No waiver | If we don't enforce a right, we haven't waived it. |
| Assignment | You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale of assets — subject to the conditions in Privacy Policy section 9.4. |
| Force majeure | Neither party is liable for failure caused by events beyond reasonable control. |
| Notices | We'll notify you by email or in-app. Notify us at legal@myremi.co and, for formal notice, by post to our registered address. |
| No third-party rights | No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms. |
| Relationship | Nothing here creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship. |
| Language | These Terms are in English. Any translation is for convenience; the English version governs. |
| Headings | For convenience only. |
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll give 30 days' advance notice by email and in-app, and continued use after the effective date means acceptance. If you don't accept, stop using the Service and delete your account — and if you've paid for a period that hasn't run, we'll refund the unused part.
We keep prior versions available so you can see what changed.
